Throughout their stay at New Dawn every parent will have a Key Worker. This Key Worker will link with the parents through one to one weekly sessions. These sessions will outline to the parent the strengths and weaknesses of their parenting skills.

Areas of concern can pinpointed and worked on together. This time will allow the parent to ask for the help and guidance they need and to hone their skills accordingly.

Preparing for the future is an essential part of our work at New Dawn. Giving parents the skills they will need

to succeed in finding jobs, maintaining a home and bringing up their children is a key objective. Realistic goals will be set for the family in accordance to their Placement Plan. Life skills will include:-

• Cooking
• Budgeting
• Positive approach to using Local Resources
• Completing Application Forms
• Letter Writing
• Practical Household Skills
• Health & Safety
